Weekly Status Report

The objectives I had for this week were to learn more about the history of computers, figure out the proper method for swapping variables, to finish the memory size problems that were on the sheet handed out in class, create and use pseudo codes, and how to use and decode cryptography. The skills I learned were the method of swapping variables, how to convert memory sizes, how to make a flowchart into a pseudo code, and to create and decode cryptography. My future goals are to reread my notes and then learn from the mistakes I have made on my assignments.

The work I have completed this week is to finish and e-mail the assignment regarding computer terms (including mainframe, supercomputer, and minicomputer), finishing the problems about memory size from the sheet handed out in class, creating cryptography for a group to decode and decoding another groups cryptography, and creating the flowchart for creating/decoding cryptography. The work remaining for me is to study for the test that is on Monday, February 19, 2007.

The challenges I faced this week were figuring out how to convert a gigabyte into a megabyte and the solution to this problem was I used the information that was given to me on the sheet and put it into equations to solve the question. The other challenge I has was on creating a flowchart from creating/decoding cryptography and my solution for this was to ask for clarification from the teacher so I would get a better understanding of the concept.
