Weekly Status Report

The objectives I had for this week were to finish the Strings Tutorial program, learn how to create a Menu Strip and Dialog Box, learn how to connect the Dialog Box with Form 1, and to finish the Payroll Application program. The skills I learned this week were to create the Menu Strip and the SubMenu's inside the Main Menu, creating the dialog box and connecting it with Form 1 of your original program, and putting everything together. My future goals are to create a program with all the skills I have learned.

The work I have completed this week is the Strings Tutorial program, Payroll Application program including its extension, and the Literacy Test. I have completed all the work that has been given to me so far. I will plan for the project that is being given out on Monday, April 2, 2007.

The challenges and solutions I had to go though this week were to finish the Payroll Application program by figuring out the right program and adding on the extension to the first program. The solutions to my problems were to ask the classmates around me for help and ask the teacher to figure out the error that was keeping my program from running.

The objectives I had for this week were to learn about the different data types in Visual Basic, learn how to use the scroll bar and picture box, learn more about the string data type, finishing the the Temperature program, and finish the Strings tutorial program. The skills I learned this week were the different data types in Visual Basics, how to create and use the scroll bar/picture box/track bar for the Temperature program, more about string data types, and how to use the functions box for the Strings tutorial. My future goals are to to able to use all the skills I have learned to create a program of my own.

The work I have completed this week was finishing the Temperature program that had to do with creating picture boxes/scroll bars/tracking bars and finishing the essay we had to write in class for review for the Literacy test happening on Thursday, March 29,2007. The work that I have remaining is to finish the Strings Tutorial.

The challenges I had this week were trying to finish the essay in the time given, how to use the track bar for the Temperature program instead of a button, and using the functions in my Strings Tutorial. My solutions for these challenges were to ask someone for help, to manage my time wisely, and just relax in general.

Weekly Status Report

The objectives I had this week were to finish the Case command programs that were on the sheet given to us, to learn about the different errors that could occur when creating a Visual Basic program, to finish the summative program (Voting) and flowchart, and study for the test about flowcharts and programming on Thursday. The skills I learned this week were learning about different errors that could happen while using Visual Basic including compiler, run-time, and logic. My future goals are to finish the extended version of the pizza program.

The work I have completed were finishing the Case command programs and the summative program that had to do with voting which included a flowchart. The work that is remaining for me is to finish the addition to the pizza program that was on the Case command sheet.

The challenges I have faced this week were having problems with trying to incorporate the "tie" in the voting program on the Case command sheet which was being handed in for marks. The way I solved this problem was by asking people in my class and when they were not sure how to do it either I decided not to incorporate all together because it was for bonus marks.

Weekly Status Report

The objectives I had this week were to learn how to use the other controls of the Visual Basic program, learn how to use the If and Case commands, and how to document the finished program. The skills I learned were how to use the If and Case commands (substitute for original way), and how to document the finished product of the program. My future goals are to create a program that I would have created from my own ideas.

The work I have completed this week is I finished the last two programs that were on the sheet, I also finished the If command programs, and I have started on the Case command programs. The work I have remaining is to finish the Case command programs and to study for the quiz coming up on Thursday, March 8, 2007 on flowcharts and programming itself.

The challenge I had this week was that I had some problems with building the codes for my programs and my solution to this challenge was that I asked the teacher to verify what I had done wrong and give me hints on how to fix them or I would ask people around me and see how their codes were different than mine.
